My birthday ended up being very nice. When I got home from work both girls were dressed in their Japanese costumes and bowed to me as I walked in, it was very cute. Then I opened gifts and found a pair of pink Eeyore slippers from Megan (who would have guessed!) and a pair of earrings from Becca that are Christmas tree lights and flash red with little batteries. Very attention getting. I think I will wear them the last day of work before our vacation. I am sure that if I wear them in England I will confirm all bias that Americans are loud, tacky and obnoxious!

Gene got me the DVD of Two Towers, extended edition! Woohoo! And the DVD miniseries from BBC of Neverwhere by Neil Gaimman. (Very cool story!) Finally, I got the book Quicksilver from Joe and Ann in England. Joe sneakily bought it while here, had it wrapped and had Gene hide it. I have heard great things about the book and look forward to reading it.
Megan's school picture came home yesterday and here she is in all her cuteness.See, I told you I have the cutest kids on earth!

Her hair is shorter now, we trimmed it to shoulder length (like mommy!) so it would be easier to maintain and comb out.
Speaking of the girls, they both brought home awards for perfect attendance in the first block of this school year and Becca got an additional award for outstanding achievment and attitude! (This is MY child they say has an outstanding attitude??) I was so proud of her! As a prize she gets a free dinner at Islands (her favorite place to eat), a free round of golf and tokens at Boomers and a free cookie at Boston Market. Yeah Becca! She had all E's on her report card this first block, except for one S. (E for excellent, S for satisfactory, N for non-satisfactory) Her teacher seems to adore her.
Today at work, I have the meeting from hell. The Director of Contracts has called an all hands meeting, since the head of contracts is coming out from the mother office in Los Angeles. The meeting was set to be two hours long, but just the other day was extended to THREE hours! *whimpers* The Director's secretary, who is a close friend of mine, told me there are over 60 slides in the Power Point presentation. Oh. My. God. I am smuggling in my PDA and plan to read my eBook, make a packing list for England, or something. Otherwise I am apt to just lose my mind and run out screaming. So please, send a kind thought my way today, as I am trapped in a conference room with 30+ people and the presentation from hell.
On a brighter note, it is payday and that is always good. And in less than two days it will be the weekend. Hmm, maybe life is not so bad afterall! Have a great day!

I am so sorry your present from me has not made it there yet. I can't find the email with the tracking number to hunt it down either. *worried*
The meeting sounds horrid. I hope you have a good ebook to read.
First of all, Megan is sooooo cute in the picture.
I am glad you had such a nice birthday. May every future one be as happy.
After my three hour office meeting on how clerical reception should handle participants who want to see their worker when they don't have an appointment, I can only say, you will be lucky if your meeting doesn't become some all day nightmare. I HATE power point presentations.
Love you. Hugs to everyone.

Glad you had a good birthday!
Make good use of the PDA during the presentation! I use mine to smuggle games into the control room at work, hehe.
What a little lady.
Wow what a heartbreaker she is gonna be!
If I had incentives like those, I would have always been on the honor roll. Way to go kid!

You DO have the cutest GIRLS in the world...but my boy is A-Dorable!
YAY! for Becca!
Hope the meeting went okay.
