  • It's the big four-O! Yep, today I turn 40, and you know what, I am happy! I am damn happy, the happiest I have been in my whole life. Life is great, life is grand and I couldn't ask for anything more!

Tonight, after work, we will do the gifts. The girls each got me something, Gene took them out shopping. Then he told them, about 1034 times, not to tell me what they got. So yesterday, in the car, on the way home from school Megan says, "Mommy, Daddy said we can't tell you what we got you for your birthday."

"Yes, that is right Megan, I want to be surprised. I am sure it is something wonderful."

"Well I will give you a hint, okay?"

"Hmm, maybe we should just wait?"

"No, I want to give you a hint! You are getting something pink that you wear on your feet at night."

"Oh, gosh, I wonder what that could be? A big blanket? A pot of paint?"

    *giggles*

"No Mommy, it has Eeyore on it too!"

So I guess tonight I will get the mystery pink thing you wear on your feet at night with Eeyore. Don't you hate my-kid-is-so-cute stories? Ha, it is my birthday, I can indulge.

Gene has today off from work, something he planned late last year, and so he drove out and had lunch with me at the Olive Garden. It was wonderful and made me feel so special. By the way, the shrimp scampi brushetta appetizers are fantastic! I filled up on that and the salad and had no room for lunch, so it was boxed up for tomorrow.

Eighteen days till England! I ordered jeans for each of the girls, when I realized this weekend that they had worn out or outgrown virtually all of their pants. I also ordered red things shaped like kitties that go on your feet at night, which should be a big hit and keep their toes toasty while on our trip.

Becca brought home her official second grade picture yesterday. It is so cute. I told her to smile wide so her two top missing teeth would show! Yes, this is another bragging mommy moment, I have a really cute daughter. Well actually I have two really cute daughters, but Megan's pictures have not been sent home yet so all you can see is Megan right now. Say cheese!

Megan's will follow as soon as it is sent home. Oh, in other cute kid stuff, Becca made me a picture for my office so I can decorate for Christmas. It says "Marry Chismis" and is signed Becca. I hope to get a Christmas tree this next weekend and start decorating, so we can enjoy things at home for a couple weeks before we head off. Besides, the cats will strike if they don't get their annual playground, err tree to sit under.

By the way, Becca also tried to convince me yesterday that I should bring in cupcakes today for her class at school, in honor of my birthday. You have to admit, she is creative!

Hope everyone has a great week! Hugs!

    Happy Birthday!

  • Happy, happy, happy, happy birthday!  I am glad it is a great day for you.  It was a great day for me 40 years ago, and it still is.  Boy, did I get lucky in the kid sweepstakes.  It was so good to have you here.  I wish I had thought to bake an early birthday cake for you.

Becca's picture is so cute....so Becca.

Enjoy those mysterious pink things you wear on your feet.

    Love, Mom

Great pic of Becca... she certainly is showing off those two missing toofs.   :)   Aren't kids cool?!?

  • Happy Birthday!  I like the seasonal decorations on your xanga page

  • I'm happy to hear you enjoyed your birthday. I was thinking back 23 years to my fortieth birthday and ... that's just too far back for me to remember any more.

  • So did Becca's class get cupcakes in honor of your birthday? She did take a really nice photo this year. Very cute about them not being able to hold it in about your present.

  • 40? You're just a baby!

    Happy happy.

    Pete
