Well the Christmas holiday season is now upon us. This last Wed. was the busiest travel day for the year in American, I know, I was traveling in it. Friday was the busiest shopping day of the year in the U.S. So as I glanced at the news this morning I see a story about a woman who was trampled at a Wal-Mart in Florida as shopped tried to rush in at 6am to get DVD players for $29. She suffered a seizure and was knocked unconscious. She is currently in a hospital recovering but Wal-Mart has called and offered to put a DVD player on hold for her. Ho ho ho.
Well on a more cheerful note, we did have a nice trip to see my mom. The girls were excited to see grandma and of course grandma's dog, Pal. We had a nice meal of turkey, homemade stuffing and all the trimmings, then we watched Santa Clause 2, which was okay, but not nearly as good as the first movie. But the kids enjoyed it and everyone had a nice time.
While there, my mom gave me my birthday present. Yes, Tuesday I turn 40! Wow! I certainly don't feel that old, I know, that is what they all say!
Anyhow, her gift to me was two 10 pound sterling notes from England to spend on our trip! What a neat surprise!! It was totally unexpected and made the trip feel real! Only three weeks now! *bounces* We still need to get a couple large suitcases, as all we have are the small on-board type and then we only have 3 of those and there are 4 of us.

Yesterday there were more surprises! A package from Germany from our friends that visited this summer. It is sorta of an inside joke, a muppet called "Flat Eric" that was used in Levi commercials in Europe some years ago. He is yellow with really long spider-like arms and legs. Becca has claimed him and dances all over the house with him as I continue to remind her he belongs to me, not her!

I also got a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Ann and Joe in England, the people we will be visiting over Christmas. They are so lovely and smell heavenly. There is just about every type of yellow flower I could imagine in it, including some I don't know. It is even popular with the cats who try to jump on the table and eat them when I am not looking. Bad kitties!
Today I hope to continue the house cleaning I started yesterday. Lots to do and catch up, especially since we could not use the washer for several days this week when we had plumbing problems again. Most the laundry was done yesterday but I have lots of picking up to do. The weather looks like it will be vrey nice as well, so maybe we can all get out later today and go to the park or something nice. Hope everyone is having a great weekend and had a good Thanksgiving holiday!

I hope my gift gets there in time! I think I ordered it early enough. I am so excited about your trip! This is going to be so wonderful for you.
It was so great having all of you here. I really appreciate the effort it took with that long drive both ways.
Love, Mom
I didn't think Santa Clause 2 was as good as the first one either. It was cute, but not hilarious like the original.
Happy birthday to you, lady.
In case I don't get by tomorrow... Happy Birthday! (from another who'll be 40 shortly...)
Beaker... looks just like our trainer, AC. Hehe.
