It's laundry day. Rub-a-dub-dub and all that. I can't imagine how women managed it when it was cast iron tubs, boiling water over a fire and nasty lye soap. Ugh! Thank you Maytag!
I have also been going through boxes of clothing and I am about 1/2 through that project. Out with all the stuff that is too big. There is something very freeing about getting rid of things. Not just old clothing, but just stuff. The stuff that accumulates and clutters up closets and garages. And then taking the remaining things and organ zing them so you really can find the x-acto knife when you need it or the little gadget you only use once in a blue moon but really need when you need it.
At noon time I took the girls over to the library for story time. Unfortunately I discovered that Gene had checked out 2 DVDs and they were both a week late, so I had to pay a fine of $14.00. Bleh! But the story time was fun and the theme was stories about chickens. Afterwards the girls made chickens out of paper plates, construction paper and tissue paper.
There is just a lot of mundane things to do today. Cleaning, laundry, catching up on mail. Oh and I have a box full of beautiful wooden cigar boxes that are just crying for me to use in crafts with the girls, so that will be a bit of fun, searching the web for some craft ideas. Here is wishing everyone a lovely day and a relaxing weekend.

Late fees, blech.
You have a lovely weekend, too.
I hope you take that out of his allowance. How else is he going to learn to be responsible? *smile*
Cast iron tubs, boiling water and lye soap? LOL! There are places all over the world still wash their clothes in a stream or water tank.
Late fees, that is how librarians get to retire you know.
*hugs*
Modern conveniences are Good Things. Late fees that exceed the value of the used DVDs are Bad Things.

One of my favorite chores is taking things to the Goodwill. I love the light feeling I get from getting rid of stuff.
it sounds like you have an enjoyable weekend cut out for you. cheers!
Making chickens outta paper plates sounds fun!
Have you told the girls about when you were Becca's age and we had chickens (and ducks and sheep and dogs and kittens)? Love to all of you.
