  • It was a productive day. I took my friend Lorrie to the movies to see "Lord of the Rings" as a late birthday gift. The movie was beautifully made and I can't imagine how the story could have been told better, but three hours of sitting gives you a numb butt!

This afternoon I went over to my appointment with WIC. It was much easier than social services, and more personable. I filled out my application, spoke to a woman and then watched an orientation video. All that behind me we now qualify for 2 dozen eggs, 3-1/2 gallons of milk, 2 pounds of cheese, 18 oz of peanut butter, four 64 oz bottles of fruit juice and 32 oz of selected breakfast cereal each month. Yeah! That will definitely help the food budget.

Gene is working tonight at Legoland so I am solo with the girls. So far they have been pretty good, not as wound up as they have been in recent days. Thank goodness! I am going to spend the evening unpacking and sorting a bunch of clothing that no longer fits me (too small, yeah!!) so I can give them to friends, family and charity as appropriate (and finally get those stupid four packing boxes out of our bedroom!!)

I am glad I had the depression funk yesterday. I really learned a lot from it. *smile* Life is good!

  • Learning from depression is a good thing. Learning is a good thing. Yep, life is good!

  • Glad today was a better day!

  • Hooray on your qualification for WIC.

  • Glad that you will be getting the help with the food.  I am also glad that you had a productive day.  Lizard loved LOTR so much, he wants us to go see it again tonight.  I wanted to go see Kate and Leopold.  I will try to see the chick flick with chick friends. *hugs*

  • I think we'll be seeing "Lord of the Rings" soon. Sounds great!

    Glad you are feeling better!

  • We had WIC when my younger sister (ack!  who just turned 18!) was born -- it was a lot of help then and sounds like it will be for you too.    I am glad to hear that.

    Love and hugs from VA,

  • Glad your having a better day and life is *good*. I was wondering about seeing the movie "Lord of the Rings" as I have never read the book. But under your recommendation I will go and see it when Roberts back at school
