One week till we leave for England!!!!!!
Woohoo! I am trying to get organized, packed, organized, packed, and organized. Unfortunately Becca is sick now, running a fever since Thursday. It seems to be this nasty flu that is going around. I spent almost 4 hours with her in urgent care today to be looked at. While there her fever ran from 103.4 to 103.9 despite their attempts to lower it. We finally got it down to 101.4 this afternoon, but it is back to 103.
But the doctor said not to panic till it goes to 105, or if it is still running up to 103 on Monday. Poor kidlet. I slept next to her bed last night, she was not doing well.
Gene is also sick, but not as bad, so he was able to watch Megan while I did the marathon at the health center. There were LOTS of people in there, most with apparently the same thing. Well I suppose it is better if everyone is sick now and not when we go on the trip. I just hope I don't catch it and my flu shot works!
Speaking of flu shots, there is a new woman working in my area who is not the brightest candle on the birthday cake. She was on the phone on Thursday, coughing, sneezing, blowing her nose, and told her friend on the phone that she had a cold. She said it could not be the flu because she had a flu shot. Wow, are there people who really think a flu shot will keep you from getting any flavor of the flu? So she is spreading her "cold" germs all over. I am surrounded!! But so far, so good. I am going to think positive.
Tomorrow we go to Chuck E. Cheese for Megan's VERY belated birthday party. Yes, her birthday was way back in September. Don't ask, it is a soap opera to explain, but the important part is we are finally having the party. Gene will stay home with Becca. I will go and supervise a herd of kids eating pizza and playing video games. But I will survive.
I also hope to decorate the tree tomorrow. I am expecting to be home from work on Monday with Becca and will try to get family gifts wrapped then. We will open them on Friday before we leave.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
For your entertainment, check out this cool snowglobe!

Poor kid, indeed! I'm surprised I haven't gotten the flu yet, as I have been surrounded by it! And I didn't get a flu shot... never have. Probably never will. (I don't like getting poked, oi!)
Hope the young 'un is feeling better soon!
Poor Becca. I hope she is better quickly. Gene, too. Now the rest of you have to stay well.
That is a very cool snowglobe, at least until the snowman blows up.
Love, Mom
Sorry to hear Becca is sick.
