Yesterday, I could not connect to Xanga for most of the day for some reason, so I am very behind on visiting sites and of course I thought of all sorts of brilliant blogs to post, but they escape me now that my fingers can type up something.

I had a rather neat little surprise this weekend. I came home on Friday night to discover a package from Random Books. Having no idea what they might be sending me, I quickly opened it up and discovered an advanced reader’s copy of a fantasy novel. I belong to a mailing list that Del Rey books runs and each month they have a contest where they pick 10 people to receive a new book that is coming out, and the 10 people get to review it. I enter every month, never expecting to win, but this month I did!! Yeah! It is a book by Ann Rice’s sister called The Dragon Queen and it is based on King Arthur myth.
Last night I had a lovely and hard night’s sleep which I was very grateful for. The night before had been really bad and for the last three days I have been having bad stomach cramps and clammy sweats on and off. It seems like a something they call “dumping” that people can get after weight loss surgery. It normally is a reaction to too much sugar. But this time I was eating smaller than normal portions and avoiding sugar and it was still hitting me. So maybe it was some stomach bug or something. Happily it seems to have moved on last night and so I was able to feel more normal and get work done at the old house, as well as sleep hard and long.
Work was late last night, on the first and third Monday we have a company meeting from 6 – 7pm. Then I ran to the store and got cat food and cleaning things. I am scrubbing down all the wood floors of each room, as well as baseboards, windows, counters, etc. I got the kitchen done last night and about 2/3 of the master bedroom.
Wed. night I will drive out to San Diego after work and spend the night with the family (yeah!) and then go to my job interview on Thursday at 8am. Then back to Los Angeles to finish off the day. Bet I sleep well that night too.

Anyhow, I best get on to catching up on sites and getting my work for the day done. Hugs to all!

You sound like a happy girl today.
Hope the interview goes well. They must be impressed after the phone interview.

And the beat goes on . . .
This is such encouraging news. I will be praying for you. Enjoy your book; that is really neat.
