  • *groans* I feel like I have a hangover this morning, with no party to show for it. Moving is a LOT of work! But damn, I had the best weekend!

I truely realized what awesome friends I have as they drove the 80 miles to my house to work their butts off, on a hot and humid day. I just kept saying thank you over and over and it still does not seem enough. Isn't there some sort of gold medal they should be awarded? I have THE best friends!

And then I had THE best dinner! My friend Lorrie had us over for dinner, after spending *hours* at our new house cleaning and scrubbing our new house in San Diego (along with some other ladies who deserve sainthood), just so I would not have to try to cook that night. Mmmm, it just tasted so good. There was BBQed chicken, rice pilaf, warm rolls, fresh green beens with this wonderful rice vinager dressing and fresh fruit.

This was followed by THE best night of sleep in our new house. Gene managed to get the bed all assembled that evening so we could have the most comfortable possible sleep. There is nothing like the sleep you get following the exhaustion of hours and hours of labor.

Yeah, I am sore, tired and exhausted today. It was hard to drive back to Long Beach last night and sleep on a inflatable mattress on a hard wood floor in an empty house, but I have to smile when I think about this weekend. It was THE best!

  • I don't know what to say, but I am glad the move went well.   Just think how nice it will be to be all settled.

  • I'm glad your move went well.  We've got to do that in a couple of weeks too.

  • So glad that things went well.  I think being near all of your friends will be a great support system for you.  How did the kids handle it?

  • Sounds like a party of sorts to me. It won't be long now . . .

  • Whew! I get tired just reading about it. I'm glad to see that you are concentrating on the positive aspects of what could have been an overwhelming task without the classy friends who pitched in and offered comfort.

  • fantastic. i'm glad it was such a positive thing. one of my sisters in australia moved on the weekend too. that has nothing to do with anything other than being a longdistance voyeur to the moving process over the weekend kind of useless, and relieved all goes well. i'm sure its going to be all downhill from here too.
